I’m not one to take photos of food I’m about to eat, but when you’re in the South, exceptions are made. The mixture of Southern Comfort food and places that offer quick student-ready meals make Savannah a great dinning destination. Upon arriving, I knew I had to start at the famous Zunzi’s Takeout with an Oliver’s Lunch (second picture). A pleasing standout was The Collins Quarter, with a beautiful space and a delicious burger (third picture). Yep, that’s delicious in a bold.

The final picture is of one of my true southern experiences, coming from Magnolias in Charleston. The dish is a buttermilk fried chicken breast with collard greens, mashed potatoes and creamed corn. Need I say more?

Other places not pictured below that I visited in Savannah and recommend are Kayak Kafe and Green Truck for quick bites, Gallery Espresso and Foxy Loxy Cafe for coffee, The Olde Pink House and The Public Kitchen and Bar for dinner, and you definitely can’t miss Lulu’s Chocolate Bar for dessert.
